Mike Leigh's words reproduced on our opening page first appeared in the foreward to Laundry by Cheryl A Aaron. This book features 60 black and white photographs and vignettes of 12 London Washhouses in the 1980's, a brief historical introduction as well as archive photographs.
Cheryl A Aaron's witty, sensitive and evocative photographs record those great Victorian public laundries that have all but disappeared.
